Letting My Redneck Out

Well I've been letting my redneck out to play lately. I'm now a big fan of bluegrass music. I was first introduced to it from the movie O Brother Where Art Thou, and I've been enjoying it off and on for a while now. Then I found Fade to Bluegrass, a tribute to Metallica by Iron Horse, a Bluegrass band for Alabama.

I've been driving everyone at work crazy with it :)

I love Iron Horse, you should check out their album Black and Bluegrass... a tribute to Ozzy and Black Sabbath.

If you get a chance, check out "Banjo Boy" by Ryan Shupe.

Very interesting - I'll need to get some of their songs as mp3's. I've been listening to Metallica for over twenty years but got into bluegrass about a year ago. Ralph Stanley's "Man of Constant Sorrow" in on my mix as well along with Ricky Scagg's "Wall of Time", "A Simple Life", and "Rank Stranger".

Oh, yeah, and if you like the rock made into bluegrass stuff, check out Hayseed Dixie, they do mostly AC/DC covers.
