In my opinion there is not enough time for that. But the more people wake up the less there will be to fight their wars and go along with the program.Help U Prephttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10914415489216906480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6594902428992225313.post-66450687774580947102009-06-03T10:43:01.592-04:002009-06-03T10:43:01.592-04:00Theotherryan,

The most recent being right now.

You don't necessarily have to defeat the aggressors with force-on-force. You just have to bleed them dry logistically. That is something that poorly-equipped, poorly-armed local populations are phenomenally good at.

Not only that, but technology can often be rendered moot by the most simple technologies.

The Bosnians found an ingenious way to destroy a perfectly good, $280,000 HARM missile for about $60. Not a bad tradeoff.

Furthermore, Theotherryan, the Founding Fathers didn't care about technology. They cared about human nature. It doesn't change. They knew that a standing army would be more dangerous than any outside aggressor.

Farmers don't have any incentive to go to war unless their land is actually being invaded. Politicians and war manufacturers have every incentive to make war under any pretext whatsoever: A) They're not fighting B)...? C) Profit!

It's nothing to get the masses to go along with it. They're already brainwashed into thinking that whatever the U.S. military does is personally ordained by God Himself. That is hardly an exaggeration, either.

I really think people need to pay some serious attention and lend some sober credence to the words of Hermann Goering:

"Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country. "

What do we have now? "The turrists gonna git us! They want us dead! They want to slit your babies' throats with Kukris in their sleep. If you're not with us, you're against us! If you don't support whatever the government and its military are doing, you're not 'patriotic.' Go move to China!"

I don't live in a government. I live on land, with neighbors. How about you?

Sadly, the Founding Fathers going to be proven right. Very, very right.

The military is not making us safe. In the long run, it will kill the people they were commissioned to protect. Never fails. "It's the same in any country." It's just the way human nature works, when imbued with grotesquely huge amounts of artificial power..https://www.blogger.com/profile/01714070136249395568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6594902428992225313.post-13341564552617881872009-06-01T20:57:00.475-04:002009-06-01T20:57:00.475-04:00Military conflicts these days are too fast, high t...Military conflicts these days are too fast, high tech and specialized for the old farmers with rifles plan to work. Even a well trained militia/ reserve force would not be able to mobilize fast enough to do anything to sway a war.

Not saying I don't think it isn't a good idea but it won't make our nation a whole lot safer.Ryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09612373437033635765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6594902428992225313.post-65970059929780593072009-06-01T14:00:58.554-04:002009-06-01T14:00:58.554-04:00I love Atlas Shrugged.
